The Lie That Your Value Depends on Approval
Approximate Length: 18–20 Minutes
________________
[00:00] Opening Hook
What if every time you checked for approval…
Waited for validation…
Adjusted yourself just to stay accepted…
You were actually handing your identity to voices that were never qualified to define you?
Because the truth is, many women are living from identities built on rejection… shame… fear… comparison… performance… people's opinions… and wounds that were never healed.
Eventually those voices stop sounding external.
They become your own.
That was me.
And honestly?
That almost destroyed me.

[00:55] Welcome to Dangerous Identity
Welcome to the Dangerous Identity Podcast.
This podcast was born from years of pain, confusion, frustration, and wrestling with God over one question:
"What does it actually mean to be a woman of God?"
Because what I saw around me often felt...
Hollow.
Performative.
Disconnected from power.
I watched women shrinking.
Silencing themselves.
Losing themselves.
And I was one of them.
I have my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I've spent years mentoring and walking alongside women.
And while psychology can help us understand behavior...
While counseling can help uncover patterns...
I discovered something that changed everything.
Nothing cuts through lies like the Word of God.
Nothing transforms the human heart like the Word of God.
Nothing sets captives free like the Word of God.
This podcast exists because God completely transformed my life through Scripture.
Not motivational messages.
Not positive thinking.
Truth.

[03:15] When Lies Become Your Identity
For years, voices around me spoke death over my identity.
Voices that diminished me.
Controlled me.
Dismissed me.
Made me question my worth.
Some of those voices belonged to people I loved deeply.
People I trusted.
But the most dangerous moment wasn't when someone else spoke those lies.
It was when I started repeating them to myself.
That was the moment I came into agreement with something God never said.
And when I agreed with lies...
Everything started unraveling.
I drifted away from God.
Into drugs.
Into promiscuity.
Into bitterness.
Into anger.
Into self-destruction.
Even after Jesus rescued me...
Even after I surrendered my life back to Him...
I realized I was still carrying those old identities.
Because no one had ever taught me about identity warfare.
No one talked about emotional bondage.
No one explained spiritual deception.
No one taught me how agreement with lies shapes the way we live.
I loved Jesus...
But I still questioned His character.
And I doubted my own.

[06:45] Hosea Changed Everything
Then God led me into the book of Hosea.
And everything changed.
Throughout Hosea, God speaks to His people like a bride.
Not with rejection.
With pursuit.
He says,
"I will allure her... I will bring her into the wilderness... and I will speak tenderly to her."
Then He says,
"I will betroth you to Me forever."
Forever.
Not because His people earned it.
Not because they became perfect.
Because of covenant.
Then God began revealing something beautiful to me.
The name Jezreel.
Jezreel means,
"God will sow."
That revelation changed the way I understood my own story.
God doesn't simply rescue His daughters.
He plants them.
He sows them into His Kingdom.
Into purpose.
Into places where their lives will bear fruit.
Into lives that need hope.
Into darkness that needs light.
But before something can be planted...
Something has to die.

[10:30] The War Between Flesh and Spirit
Galatians chapter five tells us there is a war happening inside every believer.
"The flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh."
Many of us are trying to follow Jesus...
While still holding tightly to idols.
Approval.
Image.
Control.
Comfort.
Lust.
Validation.
Bitterness.
But idols always compete with intimacy.
The flesh cannot produce what only the Holy Spirit can produce.
God wants to sow freedom.
Authority.
Purpose.
Clarity.
Peace.
But first...
We have to surrender.
Not because God wants to punish us.
Because He wants to free us.
What He offers is infinitely better than anything we cling to.
Not empty religion.
Not performance.
Not pretending.
Freedom.
Real freedom.
Freedom from shame.
Freedom from fear.
Freedom from lies.

[14:10] Why This Journey Requires Intention
Here's the part that isn't talked about very often.
Remaining rooted in truth is difficult.
Abiding in Christ requires intentionality.
The world is constantly discipling us away from God.
Every day we're being told who we should be.
What we should look like.
What success should look like.
What makes us valuable.
Remaining in Christ requires preparation.
Study.
Prayer.
Meditation on Scripture.
Discipline.
Surrender.
Psalm 144 says,
"Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle."
Notice that word.
War.
Not comfort.
Not passivity.
War.
This podcast exists to point women back to the God who trains them for battle.
Because women who know who they are in Christ become dangerous to darkness.

[17:00] Final Charge
I'm tired of watching women believe lies that Jesus already died to set them free from.
I'm tired of watching women confuse insecurity with humility.
Watching them abandon themselves.
Watching them believe they are too broken...
Too much...
Not enough...
Too disqualified...
To be used by God.
It's time to take back territory.
It's time to remember—
Or maybe discover for the very first time—
Who we are in Jesus Christ.
Not weak.
Not disposable.
Not voiceless.
But chosen.
Established.
Filled with the Spirit of God.
Dangerous to darkness.
Because once truth enters...
Everything changes.
